About Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati

Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati, (Ramamurti S. Mishra, M.D.), founder of the Yoga Society of New York and Ananda Ashram, was a highly respected yogi and scholar, a master of the Sanskrit language, a medical doctor, teacher and lecturer. He also established the Yoga Society of San Francisco (known as Brahmananda Ashram) and inspired several other centers of meditation in the United States and abroad.

His life was dedicated to the integration of Eastern and Western sciences, culture and philosophy, and he presented the timeless message of meditation and Self-realization in a truly contemporary and accessible form. A prolific author on the science and philosophy of Yoga–Vedanta, he integrated the universal message of these teachings with his deep knowledge of both Eastern and Western medicine and psychology.

Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati left his physical body in 1993, yet his spiritual presence and teachings continue to be a source of inspiration and guidance for all.

About the Talks

For those who are new to the teachings it is simply an unmitigated thrill to hear Joan Suval read and discuss the teachings of the yogic masters.

For those who are well-acquainted with the teachings, Joan's melodic and soothing delivery will offer a type of comfort that cannot be accurately expressed with words. During difficult times, listening to her programs will offer an awakening boost.

Joan is very selective in what she reads. You will hear only the purest messages, unfettered by superstition and religious doctrine. This life-transforming wisdom is timeless - you will hear her speak from the ancient scriptures right up to and including the words of modern masters. These programs offer practical advice for every seeker. These are the programs that will remind you of who you are.

Authorized by Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati to be a conduit for his message, Joan lends authenticity to each and every word. You too will understand why there are so many of us who come to hear Joan - month after month, year after year - and in some cases, ongoing for several decades.
